1. 선수과목

 

  - 선수과목은 지원하는 해의 5월까지 수강해야 하며, C 이상의 학점을 받아야 합니다.

 

  - 학기제의 경우, 90시간 쿼터제의 경우, 135시간을 이수해야 합니다.


Applicants are required to complete the following coursework with a C or better by May of the intended entering year.

Grades of C- or lower and courses taken pass/fail or credit/no credit will not be accepted. The majority of the prerequisites

should be completed at the time of application, but any in-progress or planned courses will not prevent an invitation to interview.

The minimum requirement for admission is 90 semester hours (or approximately 135 quarter hours) of academic coursework,

but completing a bachelor’s degree is strongly encouraged.

Most applicants will have completed at least a bachelor’s degree before matriculation to dental school.

2. DAT

 

  - DAT 시험을 응시하여 AADSAS에 점수를 제출해야 합니다. 


  - DAT 점수 인정 기간: 지원하는 해의 6월 or 7월 이전까지 응시한 점수를 인정합니다. 

 

  - DAT 점수 제출 마감 기한은 지원하는 해의 12월 1일로 8월 31일 이전에 시험에 응시해야 하는 점을 유의해야 합니다.


Applicants are required to complete the Dental Admissions Test (DAT), which is administered by the American Dental Association (ADA).

Official DAT scores must be sent to AADSAS. Unofficial of preliminary score reports are not accepted and should not be sent directly to

the University of Michigan.


The DAT should either be taken before application or in June/July of the application year. Scores must be received before

the application deadline of December 1st. in order to meet this deadline, tests should not be taken after August 31st of the

application year.




3. 쉐도잉

 

  - 쉐도잉 활동은 일반 치과의사 이하에서 대부분 완성될 것으로 예상되지만, 치과 전문의(교정치과, 구강외과 등)와 함께

    완성한 쉐도잉 경험도 인정됩니다.

 

  - 100시간의 쉐도잉 활동을 하여 지원 시 AADAS에 업로드 해야 합니다.

  

Applicants should demonstrate a confirmed interest in dentistry by participating in dental-related activities, including direct shadowing

of a dentist in a patient-care setting.


100 hours of dental shadowing is required and must be completed at the time of application submission. Applicants without

this minimum number of hours will not be reviewed or considered for interview.

Shadowing hours should be reported on the AADAS application. No further documentation is required.




4. 대외활동

 

  - 참여했던 다양한 대외 활동 (학술, 운동, 동아리, 기관, 연구, 봉사활동, 인턴십 등)에 대해 작성하는 란으로 활동 기간과 빈도수,

    담당 핵심 역할, 기관 정보 등을 기입하여 제출해야 합니다.


Applicants should report any extracurricular activities in which they are involved, dental-related or otherwise, on the AADSAS application.

Such activities could include (but are not limited to) academic enrichment programs, athletics, clubs and organization, research, volunteering,

and work experience.


For each extracurricular, applicants must provide the frequency and duration of the experience, a description of the key responsibilities,

and the name and address of organization of supervisor.




5. 추천서

 

  - 추천서는 3부 제출해야 합니다. (최대 추천서 4부를 제출할 수 있지만, 선택사항임)

 

  - 추천서 2부는 수강한 강의 중 하단 과목의 교수에게 받아야 하며 추천서에 수강 강의명과 번호를 기입해야 합니다.

    Basic Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Microbiology

 

  - 다른 추천서 1부는 치과의사, 교수 (전공 무관), 고용주, 멘토 등에게 추천서를 받아 제출하면 됩니다.



The University of Michigan requires a total of three letters of recommendation, although ADDAS allows up to four. Letters must be uploaded

directly to the application by the evaluators. Letters sent directly to the Office of Admission are not accepted. Of the four allotted AADAS

uploads, application must have:


Two Science letters – Two letters must be written by science professors who have taught and graded the applicant at the university level.

Letters should be from basic science instructors (biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, microbiology). Science letters should include the

course name and number.


One letter of choice – One letter by an evaluator of the applicant’s choice is also required. This evaluator could be a dentist,

another professor (science or non-science), an employer, a mentor, or another individual who can write in support of the applicant.
