1. 선수과목

  - 지원자는 4년 학부 과정을 이수하고 입학 전까지 학사 학위를 취득해야 합니다.

Premedical students should pursue a four-year undergraduate curriculum and obtain a baccalaureate degree before entering medical school.

Only 105 acceptable quarter units can be transferred from a junior or community college.

Advanced Placement (AP) credit will be accepted for the chemistry and physics prerequisites if the credit is verified on your college transcript.

공식적인 과정 요건은 모든 지원자들에게 기본적인 토대를 구성하지만, 대부분의 성공적인 지원자들은 이러한 전제 조건들을 넘어서고 더 높은 수준의 학업 수행 능력을 보여줄 것입니다. 이에 따라 UCSF 입학위원회는 수강한 과목의 종류와 수준, 학업 성과와 궤적, MCAT시험에서의 지원자의 점수 내용에 따라 학업 준비를 평가합니다.

The formal course requirements constitute the basic foundation for all applicants, but most successful

applicants will have gone beyond these prerequisites ans will have demonstrated the ability to perform

at a higher level academically. Accordinglym the UCSF Admissions Committee evaluates academic

preparedness in the context of the type and level of courses taken, the academic performance and trajectory,

ans the applicant's scores on the MCAT exam. Although UCSF does not explicitly require more than one

year of biology course(e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, etc.) as well as a full

year of organic chemistry. Breadth of academic achievement is also important. We value outatanding

performance in the humanities as well as the ability to communicate in languages that are commonly used

by non-English speaking populations in the United States.

2. GPA

UCSF에서 학업 성취도는 선택된 학습 과정의 난이도, 시도된 단위 수, 개인의 배경과 같은 다른 요인의 맥락에서 평가됩니다.

Academic excellence is one of several ways students may demonstrate a high degree of motivation and capability for the medical profession. At UCSF, academic performance is evaluated in the context of other factors, such as the difficulty of the course of study selected, the number of units attempted, and an individual's backgraoud. Although applicants who have a grade-point average (GPA) below 3.2 generally are not considered favorably for admission, applicants who have nontraditional backgrounds should not be discouraged.

In addition, students should not select courses only for the purpose of raising their GPA.

3. MCAT

  - 경쟁력 있는 MCAT 점수를 획득하기 위해서 지원자들이 여름보다 봄에 응시하는 것을 권장합니다. 재 시험을 보는 경우,

    입학처는 가장 최근의 점수를 지원시에 고려합니다.

  - MCAT 은 예상 입학으로부터 3년 이내여야 하며, 늦어도 전년도 9월까지 응시해야 합니다. 예를 들어 2020년 10월 15일까지

    제출된 지원서의 경우, 2019년, 2020년 및 2021년에 응시한 MCAT 점수만이 인정되므로, 지원시 참고 바랍니다.

The Medical College Admission Test(MCAT)., required of all applicants, is administered multiple times per year. We encourage applicants to take the MCAT in the spring rather than the summer. This way, your can take the test again if you feel that your initial test scores do not reflect your ability.

For applicants who decide to take the MCAT more than once, the committee looks at the most recent scores. The MCAT must be taken within three years of the date you plan to enter medical school and, at the latest, by September of the preceding year. We will accept scores from 2019,2020, and 2021 for applications submitted by October 15, 2020.

4. 추천서

  - 추천서 최소 2부는 강사로부터 받으면 총 3~5부를 준비하여 AMCAS 에 제출합니다.

  - 추천서 중 2부 지원자가 과학 및 헬스케어 관련하여 참여한 연구 또는 기타 활동에 대해 지원자가 기여한 것들에 대해

    자세하게 기술되어 있어야 합니다.

  - 가족, 친구, 동료로부터 받은 추천서는 지원시에 인정되지 않습니다.

We ask applicants who pass the preliminary review to submit 3-5letters of recommeendation, including at least two letters from your instructors. We will accept only one set of letters, regardless of the number of programs for which you are applying. Please be aware that UCSF is participating in the AMCAS letter service, and the such applicants are required to submit their letters of recommendation via AMCAS.

The letters that will thell us the most about tyou, your contributions, and your potential are those from instuctors of upper division courses who know you well. Letters that document evidence of contributions to research or other work related to science or health care are

also of particular interest to the admissions committee.

Character references and recommendations from family friends or associates generally are not useful.
